About Us
This site is run by West Oxford Community Against Mega Probation Centre. We are a group of local residents who have come together to fight the plan for a Mega Probation centre in Mill Street, West Oxford. We have the backing of local businesses, the support of community leaders and an army of volunteers.
Due to the unwillingness of the Probation Service to carry out public consultation on this scheme we only found out about the proposed Mega Probation Centre on 27th March 2009. In the short space of time since then we have held 2 public meetings, publicised the scheme in local media, garnered support from our council representatives and our MP Dr Evan Harris and organised ourselves into an effective team to campaign against these proposals.
